01/05/2010The Unique replaced the Dragon Wok recently. An ad brought to my house said they have "Chinese buffet" but when I went today they said it was still just in planning. I ordered General Gau's Chicken from All Day Combos and paid $7.40, cheap for some towns but high for Allston. Then I asked if they had a tea dispenser, like Dragon Wok and its predecessor had done. They said no, tea was extra. So I asked for a glass of water. "Against policy". I have never been refused a glass of water at a restaurant when I asked for one. They obviously have a sink. If there is something wrong with their tap water, how can they prepare food? The pork fried rice was edible but had too much pepper. The egg roll was edible but boring. The chicken was tasty and cooked right, but whoever chopped it left on too much fat and gristle. Skip this place in favor of the Asia Wok across from the post office. Cheaper better food and much better service. Don, ordered 1 times
12/09/2009Quick delivery, food was pretty good, especially for the price-point. (I really like their orange beef sauce, though the breading wasn't as crispy as I would have preferred.) Michelle, ordered 3 times
